Example of how it works for us: (Referrals surf an avg of 20h)
My Current Surfing Time: 25h 0min total = 25h x 0.50 = $12.50/month
My Direct Referrals: 2904 (You make $0.10/hour) = 58080h x 0.10 = $5808.00/month
My Indirect Referrals: 3458 (You make $0.05/hour) = 69160h x 0.05 = $3458.00/month
Total Earned Per Month: $12.50+$5808.00+$3458.00=$9281.00 (old) = $12,522.25 (new)

So, what exactly is the "viewbar"?  The view bar is a small bar you keep loaded at the bottom of your screen.  When you are searching the net, a little round button should be yellow.  That means you are earning money.  If its green, that means you are not.  Down below is a picture of the view bar:
